Becki will share with the participants information on why retirement planning needs to be a top priority TODAY, what the various options are for both people who work alone and those who have employees. If picking the right plan is the first step, then knowing what products to use to fund it is second. During the hour, Becki will cover why, how and with what.

Becki is an independent contractor agent with State Farm Insurance Company, running her own agency since 1991 and she currently has four employees. Becki provides Insurance and Financial Services to her clients. She also co-owns Heather Square, LLC, which is an office building in Toledo.

In addition, Ann is Past Vice President of the Marblehead Peninsula Chamber of Commerce; Past President of the Ottawa County Regional Welcome Center; Past Vice President of the Ottawa County Regional Welcome Center; Past Treasurer of the Port Clinton Area Bed and Breakfast Association; graduate of Leadership of Ottawa County Class 2006-2007; member of Steering Committee for the Ottawa County County Customer Service Program; and member of The Port Clinton Area Professional Business Women Association. Liza J.M. Heinig, J.D., P.E. (D.C.) is an associate at Tarolli, Sundheim, Covell & Tummino LLP, a Cleveland intellectual property law firm. She is a mechanical engineer who has prepared and prosecuted numerous U.S. and foreign patent applications in technologies including heavy equipment, biomechanical and medical devices, and manufacturing processes and equipment. Liza enjoys working closely with individual inventors and advising clients on leveraging intellectual property for the benefit of their business.

SCORE Consultant

Ms. Khayat spent over 25 years in the healthcare field, initially as a director of clinical laboratory services, then as vice president of professional services and medical affairs at a large teaching hospital, and for the last 14 years of her career as the chief executive officer for a network of hospitals and medical centers in North America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, sponsored by the National Cancer Institute to conduct clinical trials in pediatric cancer research, with national headquarters in Arcadia, CA. She also has been involved in the start up of two small businesses, one for-profit and one non-profit. She moved back to Cleveland from California in 2007 and works part-time as a consultant, as well as counseling at SCORE Chapter 30 in Cleveland. She is the immediate past chair of SCORE Cleveland.

SCORE is a national organization made up entirely of volunteers. It is a resource partner of the Small Business Administration that provides free business counseling to existing and new business owners. SCORE members are retired or semi-retired business men and women who have either owned their own businesses or have had leadership roles in small to medium-sized businesses. Each chapter of SCORE has counselors who will assist clients in developing business plans, marketing strategies, financial plans and analyses of operations in addition to lending their special expertise, which may include such areas as accountancy, finance, manufacturing, marketing, public relations, sales, health care, social services, legal services, etc. for both non-profit and for profit businesses.

Joy Skarupa of RoseLine, LLC has been a professional bookkeeper for 9 years. While initially specializing in bookkeeping for real estate investors and other real estate professionals, she has grown her business to offer bookkeeping, forecasting and budgeting to multiple types of small business owners. Currently she has clients that are recruiters, coaches, proposal organizers and real estate investors. She has clients that are nation-wide and offers all of her services as a virtual assistant.
